Daily menu and table of allowed foods for the most popular diets.

The diet of French nutritionist Pierre Dukan is perhaps one of the most popular diets in the world.Invented in the late 90s of the last century, the Pierre Dukan diet immediately won the love and trust of hundreds of thousands of followers around the world.The essence of the Dukan diet is simple: as few carbohydrates as possible, as much protein as possible.The author of the Dukan diet was guided by the diet of primitive hunter-gatherers.According to Dukan, our bodies, and especially our need for essential nutrients, have remained largely unchanged since the days when the main sources of food were edible herbs and roots gathered by women and meat from animals gathered by men.But sugar, white flour and other products that form the basis of the modern human diet were not unfamiliar to our primitive ancestors.And now, when we switch to a regular diet, we get fatter, fatter and sicker.Pierre Dukan's diet is designed so that the diet is as close as possible to a "natural" diet and thereby forces the body to remember the times when the muscles were strong and the fat layer was thin.
Start the Dukan diet
The Dukan diet is based on four phases.Two of them are designed for weight loss, two of them are designed to prevent the so-called “yo-yo effect,” when weight lost from dieting comes back.Furthermore, it is assumed that in between the two phases, the weight stabilizes.Where to start with the Dukan diet?The easiest way is right from the first stage, which takes two to seven days.
Despite the short duration, the first phase of the Dukan diet, called the attack, is highly effective: after that, on average, up to 4 kg of excess weight is lost.
This is followed by a second, intercalated phase, which is longer and aimed at stabilizing weight loss.If everything goes well, during the second phase of the Dukan diet you will lose about a kilogram per week.The duration of this phase is calculated individually, depending on the degree of overweight a person wants to lose using the Dukan diet.
The third stage of the Dukan diet is aimed at consolidating the results achieved.Its duration is calculated using a simple formula: 10 days of diet for each kilogram lost.For example, if you lose 10 kg, the third phase will last 100 days.
After completing the third phase, the final phase of the Dukan diet begins, the fourth phase, which lasts throughout life.But don't be scared: in the fourth stage of the diet, you only need to return to a strict diet one day a week.The rest of the time, it's just important to eat oat bran every day, drink enough water and walk at least 20 minutes a day.
According to Pierre Dukan, as a result of the "reprogramming" process that occurs with the help of attacks, the body learns to use proteins instead of carbohydrates as the basis for energy.In addition, in the process of going through all the stages of the Dukan diet, a person will reach the most suitable weight and body size - an individual standard that best suits the person's lifestyle, height, age and other parameters.
Phases of the Dukan diet
So, the first phase of the Dukan diet - attack - allows you to see the first results of the diet within a few days after starting.During an attack, it is important to consume 1.5 tablespoons of oatmeal per day, walk at least half an hour per day and remember to drink 1.5 - 2 liters of water.As for the foods that can be eaten at the first stage of the Dukan diet, the basis is protein-rich foods.Protein foods low in fat and carbohydrates can be consumed in almost unlimited quantities.In addition, at the first stage of the Dukan diet, it is allowed to consume foods that do not contain protein, but also almost do not contain carbohydrates and fats - of course, first of all, these are various drinks.In the initial stages of the Dukan diet, 72 protein-rich foods are allowed: such a wide variety of foods allows you to make the diet comfortable for almost everyone, even those who do not tolerate dietary restrictions.
The second phase of the Pierre Dukan diet, “alternation”, will stabilize the results achieved.At this stage, vegetables are added to protein products (except those that contain starch - for example, potatoes, corn).Both vegetables and protein foods can still be eaten in almost unlimited quantities, the main thing is to follow the principle of rotation: eat exclusively protein foods on one day and protein with vegetables on the second.It is still necessary to eat oatmeal every day - at this stage it is already two spoons per day.In general, oatmeal is one of the main products in the Dukan diet.Oat bran has a high protein content, helps maintain a feeling of fullness, is good for cardiovascular function and also stimulates bowel movements.
During the second phase of the diet, it is important to drink up to two liters of clean water per day and devote at least half an hour a day to physical activity.
In the third phase of the diet, you can eat unlimited amounts of protein and vegetables, and you can also include some fruits and dairy products.Here are the basic rules of the third phase of the Dukan diet:
- you can eat fruits, except bananas, grapes, cherries, dried fruits and nuts;
- Every day you can eat two pieces of rye bread and 40 g of hard cheese;
- twice a week you can eat pasta with tomato sauce, 225 g of couscous, bulgur or millet, lentils, beans and potatoes (all without oil);
- You can add lamb, pork and bacon to your diet several times a week.
We remind you that the duration of this phase of the Dukan diet depends on the amount of excess weight a person has lost during the process: each kilogram lost is “worth” 10 days of the diet.
The fourth phase of the Dukan diet involves returning to your usual diet pattern, but there are certain rules that must be followed by those who do not want to lose the achieved results.Here are the rules of the fourth phase of the Dukan diet:
- Eat protein-rich foods only one day a week.
- Drink at least two liters of water every day.
- Walk at least 20 minutes every day.
- Eat three tablespoons of oat bran every day.
